I've been doing a lot of reading and have not been able to acquire a clear understanding of how to install Ubuntu 16.04 on this particular device.

One article I read ARCH LINUX recommends updating the HP UEFI Firmware in order to define a "Custom Boot Path".

Another tutorial Everyday Linux User I have read through is very thorough, but doesn't mention the previously stated recommendation.

I'm currently running Windows 10 Enterprise and I would like to be able to dual-boot. If this question has been answered somewhere else, or if you are aware of a tutorial that addresses this model laptop (HP Elitebook 840 G1), please provide a link.

Does anyone know a up to date way of installing Ubuntu 16.04 on this HP Laptop?
